Well the photo is cool might crop out the upper part where it's over-exposed! The statue is interesting don't know what dose represent. In what way would you like to improve?

Well mostly I wanted to improve my ability to render shadows and how to put two photos together more fluidly so I can start to do some more of that surreal stuff.
P.S. do you know of any tutorials on this site or others which might help?

One major thing you need to acknowledge in this image - the background part has serious backlighting and almost no frontlighting, that's why the statue falls out of place so much. Fixing either lighting situations would make the image believable.
