I tried to pick two well known expressionist painters with different feeling to their work. Which do you prefer and why?

I like them both for entirely different reasons. Munch because of the emotions he conveys and Kandinsky because of the experimental nature of his work.
I don't think you can really compare them. |

I like Munch for several of his off the wall painting especially one of his most famous the scream, I like Kandinsky's Panel for George R Cambell #5 also its nice. I think he is well known but more so by those in art or of an older generation. Its hard to say which of the two r my fav. I'd probably go with Munch though. Although I like Kandinsky's idea of Winter and he does things so you have to really pay more attention to get it.

Kandinsky all the way. His stuff is much more life-affirming and melodious.
