I'd like to ask: The cave paintings in Spain and France which I've visited, to my great awe of what I'd find there : the exquisite paintings, the thankfulness, gratitude for the animals the first thinking men (and women) left behind for us, to know something about them, to me were far more beautiful than any works of art, created by modern or sophisticated man.
Pablo Picasso, as diversified as he was, as naturally gifted to produce convincingly any style of art he may have wanted to display, because of his genius, once exclaimed, that art would never reach such caliber, as the cave paintings have. Do you agree with Picasso or not? If you have seen these cave paintings in actuality or though reproductions in art books. do you agree with him? That never again would artists, as early on the scene, as primitive man, be able to display an exquisite purity as primitive man did. If you agree tell me why? If not, as well tell me in details. I have yet not recovered from having witnessed these. |
