Where is the "Las virgenes Cristianas expuestas al populacho" (The Christian virgins Exposed to the Populace) painting by Felix Resurreccion Hidalgo y Padilla? This painting was awarded a silver medal in an exposition where Juan Luna won a gold medal for the Spoliarivm.

A first study for this painting is in the Lopez Memorial Museum in the Phillipines. A visitor there (so I read on the web) was told that the painting itself (the one that one the prize) is in Spain (the artist died in Barcelona) - although I cannot trace which museum/ or church. But I have the email address of the Lopez Museum, and they will almost certainly be able to help you. It is Email this person

Apparently that painting is on display in The Hall of Masters at the Metropolitan Museum of Manila.
Quote: The Hall of Masters is dedicated to 19th century Filipino painters Juan Luna and Felix Resurreccion Hidalgo, who achieved prominence in the 1884 Madrid Exposition: Luna’s Spoliarium received the First Gold Medal; Hidalgo’s Virgenes Cristianas Expuestas al Populacho (on display at the Metropolitan Museum of Manila) won one of 14 silver medals.
