Art is something that is created or captured by a person that either:
1) carries meaning to the artist or to society 2) is a presentation of aesthetics A work of art is not something found in nature, but nature can become a work of art if it is painted or photographed or emulated. A work of art doesn't have to be meaningful to the artist in order for others to consider it art. A commission work, for example, might be an artist's way of getting money and doesn't carry much personal meaning, but the person who pays for the artwork can derive meaning from it. |

Art is for anyone to express their feelings at the moment of making the art (painting,drawing,music....)
It's also meant to embellish our lives by all kinds of means! |

Art is everything around me. Art can be found in anything that anyone created, from a photograph print to the t-shirt you're wearing to the song you just listened to. Art can be so many different things and have multiple meanings to everyone. That's what makes art so amazing, and that's why we need more art in our schools!

anything that has had time and effort put into it and that means something to the artist, even if i dont like some art i will always apreciate it and its artist knowing the love and time that has gone into it and that it is sentimental to someone.

Art; to me is a way of expressing my self; whether it's through painting a picture or writing a poem. It's a passion of mine...that I have to get back into...and reading you question is just that sign. =)

Art can be anything, it's subjective. To one person an object is nothing more than an object, a performance nothing more than a happenstance, or a poem/story nothing more than written words; to another it's a masterpiece, the performance of a lifetime, or moving/inspiring words.

Some times I don't know what art is but I know what art isn't.
It isn't blocks of paint on a canvas - regardless of what the elites say. It is something that I can relate to. I don't necessarily have to like it, I can appreciate the work that goes into it but I wouldn't buy it. I like folk art too. I can see the difference between "fine" art and "folk" art but I would buy what suits me (mean something to me-elicit a response) at the time. It has to say something to me, not just match my decor. |

Art is feelings, taste. Its taking out whats in your brain imagery and putting it together outside for us to see, feel, think, critique, and imagine.

I think art is something that is expressed in various forms. It can be through paintings, music, writing, or such. It's a way for the creator (or artist) to get his deepest feelings out into the open.

Art is paint, metal, liquid, chalk, ink, textile, singing, dancing and written word. Art can inspire, soothe the savage beast, captivate, solicit smiles, tears, rage and happiness. Art can also touch the soul to bring about change in the world.

i think art is something that should last a long time, and should reflect the artist or be of intrest to him/her. Art is not something everyone has to like, but what the artist can appreciate.

Art is creativity and self-expression. It comes in many different forms. For example, literature, music and painting are all forms of art. Art is also unique. Although some might imitate a certain style, it cannot be duplicated, not only for copyright considerations, but because every artist has his or her own interpretation. This is the way it should be, because what is uninteresting to one person is utterly fascinating to another. Art is the embellishment of life.
