Hello all, I just recently joined this forum and am excited to communicate with fellow members.
I would like to know what kind of art you guys like, who is your favourite artist? I myself am a huge fan of modern art. I love Picasso but anything that is new and up to date I don't really like. My favourite pieces of art work that are produces in our ages of today would have to be just pencil sketches with very unique fading. I would like to hear what you guys like, get to know everyone a bit better and hopefully this forum can take off to a jump start! P.S. I love that we can upload examples of our art work. Regards, Brendah |

I personally don't like art as in pictures and stuff, I am more of a person who enjoys the performing arts. Music and acting is my more passionate category in art.
I do like pencil sketches as well though, all portraits seem to turn out very well. |

If I were to pick a certain style of art I like, I would say my favourite pieces of art are mostly self portraits. Although I like alot of pencilled drawings too

I like impressionist art. I like to be able to see a scene without it having to be too precise. Monet is obvious but the other painting that I have in my lounge is a painting by a Lancashire artist called Terry Kirman - very vibrant and colourful.

Message to Van Goghs ear
Lucky you, having one of Terry Kirman's paintings! What painting is it? He's my favourite artist and also happens to be my father! Small world isn't it! |

Kraftykatz - it really is a small world. I didn't expect anybody on here to have even heard of him let alone be related. I have two originals - one of Accrington town centre towards the bus station, which is the big one in my lounge, and the other, in the dining room is of Clitheroe, looking across the river to the church.

Van Goghs Ear - Wow - it really is a small world. It was the first time I'd been on this website yesterday. I only found it by chance as I entered my dad's name on a search engine and your entry came up so that's how I came across the website. It's good to hear from folk who have some of his artwork and who can enjoy it in their own living room!

I don't tend to have a favourite artist, rather a collection of favourite pieces. I can generally find interest in most art forms except for the increasingly 'strange' pieces that are shown which to my mind have little meaning. For example a scene depicting an untidy bedroom?
