How do I use my watercolors like this? http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/44664208/?qo=44&q=watercolor+holiday&qh=boost%3Apopular+age_sigma%3A24h+age_scale%3A5
or like http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/58985344/ or http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/58957605/ the way they shade and all.

Is there a certain thing I'm not doing or soemthing?

do they let the paint dry in between or what? I'm really confused with the watercolors. Help is appreciated greatly!!

Thanks

BTW, these were NOT drawn by me but by the amazing artist that drew them.

With all watercolor there is a control issue with the water on the canvas paper. Most of the time people dry the paper in between different colors or areas of the painting. You can use a industrial dryer like the kind to shrink wrap plastic, which can be bought at a local hardware store like home-depot. This picture looks as tho he or she has dried parts of the painting in between colors and areas of the paper.
Don't give up because it took me a years to get the control of the water and the color on the paper.
Also purchase a larger pound paper like 300# or higher for watercolor paintings. This paper is better to retain water and to absorb it when you just need to add a few more colors without it running of the paper.
