Well, we already have Batman Begins and Fantastic Four , ... Let me start this ....
![]() A STEVEN SPIELBERG FILM Starring: Tom Cruise.......... ![]() Miranda Otto........ ![]() Dakota Fanning.... ![]() Tim Robbins........ ![]() Based Upon: The 1898 sci-fi novel by H.G. Wells What is it about? This is the granddaddy of all alien invasion stories, first published by H.G. Wells in 1898. The novel begins ominously, as the lone voice of a narrator tells readers that "No one would have believed in the last years of the nineteenth century that this world was being watched keenly and closely by intelligences greater than man's..." Things then progress from a series of seemingly mundane reports about odd atmospheric disturbances taking place on Mars to the arrival of Martians just outside of London. At first the Martians seem laughable, hardly able to move in Earth's comparatively heavy gravity even enough to raise themselves out of the pit created when their spaceship landed. But soon the Martians reveal their true nature as death machines 100-feet tall rise up from the pit and begin laying waste to the surrounding land. Wells quickly moves the story from the countryside to the evacuation of London itself and the loss of all hope as England's military suffers defeat after defeat. With horror his narrator describes how the Martians suck the blood from living humans for sustenance, and how it's clear that man is not being conquered so much a corralled. Happy nice time .... Bye Bye guys |

This has to be one of my all time favorite movies. It was extremely well done, the effects looked incredibly real, and the actors(daktoa fanning was great!)were very convincing, But yeah i agree, the one thing i didnt like so much about the movie was the end, it was a little unrealistic i think. i guess i shouldnt ruin it, i just didnt think it was a good ending.

Never seen it and to be honest with Cruise in the starring role I doubt I will do anytime soon. The effects are supposed to be some of the best around is that true?

It is pretty amazing Cain. Definitely not like the original War of the Worlds if any of you have seen that. I know it is old, but hey, I grew up watching old movies, what can I say. I am not a big Cruise fan, but it is a personal thing, not a movie/acting thing. Dakota is an amazing young girl and definitely was an asset to this movie. Rent it anyway Cain, I think you will pleasantly surprised.
