It looks fine to me unless you are trying to make it super dark green...
Working on two big projects right now. Get hyped or not. It doesn't matter. Ha.

You'll get that a lot that's why you don't want to judge your own art. I stopped doing it awhile go, stuff that I thought was my crappiest work, turned out to be people's favorites of mine...

It looks very nice, what method of coloring do you use?

I think this was a combination of a hue&saturation adjustment layer and color range selection. Or a hue&saturation adjusted at modifying only red colors.

Both techniques seem to work fine here

Yes I agree, I like the light green, I think if he went any darker it would look strange with the dark green leaves/stem.

Ok I wonder have you tried any of the following

Desaturate then add a colour balance adjustment layer
or just go to image-adjustments-hue/saturation... check the colourise box and the play with the hue slider ??
Also you could try masking out everything but the rose bud and then play with the above effects..

Hope this help even in the slightest way

Hi again, I have pondered over this image for a while, and I have the same problem with it.. as in it just wasn't working for me.. But having said that I could not improve on the colour change of the bud.. Then it hit me... there is nothing wrong with the actual rose bud itself but the problem lay in the background.... I took the liberty of modifying it for you.. My theory is that the background was too bland and too dark and didn't compliment the new vivid colour change so with that in mind i set about correcting the problem... I figured the image was intended to be a crisp macro shot of the rose bud which would have a good depth of field making the subject stand out but still being balanced with the background colours here's the result hope you like it and I can send you the .psd file if you wish to see exactly what I did.
phew... Im babbling on a bit lol
