I am aspiring to be a tatoo artist. I am great at drawing and shading and tatoo art has been a passion of mine for a long time. Is there anyway I can be trained, and gain some experience BEFORE i would become an apprentice?

get in good with an artist. buy your own equipment. you can practice on fruits (not homosexuals) like oranges. the tattoo artist should teach you skills and with practice you'll be on your way.

Do not try to gain experience before your apprenticeship. Doing so can lead to health risks and or legal action that could harm the future of your career. Find the best artist you can and stick with what they tell you. Now days an apprenticeship is not only the safe bet it is also the only legal one.

hey why not practice with henna? if it is the design part - if you need training with the machine then get or borrow one and you could go to local butcher and get pigs feet-you know raw- their flesh is most like ours-if you are a veggie you could practice on maybe a white egg plant. good luck w/this one
