I didn't know which forum to post this under, so if I'm wrong, please move it to the right forum. My question - What do you think about government subsidies for art, artists and art related institutions? Learning centers, art or otherwise, are subsidized - That we can understand, beacuse students are, by definition bankrupt and incomeless. But what about artists? Artists, again by definition, spend their entire lives complaining and critisizing government. And then expect the govt. to fork out money to let them live the way they want to, without doing any work. Is this fair? As artists yourself, do you expect govt. help? And do you critisize govt.? If so, how do you explain yourself?
