I have this oil painting of a house on a creek. There is a mountain in the back with snow on it.There are yellowish orange trees in the front and green trees in the back ground. The house has 2 windows and thats about it.
I tried to make out the name of the painter but i couldnt. I think it was close to chiy wlomd but i dont know.It was kind of sloppy and faded. It was made for me about 10-30 years ago by a famous painter.its a beautiful print.I

How do you know it was a famous painter if you don't know who it was?

1. How can you not know the name of the famous painter if he made it for you? Do you have alzheimer's?

2. Which is it an oil painting or a print?

I understand your question,, your asking if anyone knows who painted the painting.. I don't know why so many others didn't understand this.. anyway. I don't know, sorry, but try typing in the name you have or similar on "search" and you may come up with something, as you know "search will ask to correct what your looking for...good luck..

Is it an oil painting or a print? It can't be both.

The description of the subject could apply to many paintings. You're probably not going to get much help with identifying a painting none of us can see.

I would suggest contacting, or returning to, the place where you purchased this piece 10-30 years ago, and asking for more information about the artist.
