Lombi: Hey there and welcome to the interview. How are you today?
Arioth: Fine, thanks.

Lombi: Alright, let's start off with you giving us a little bit of background info ... who you are, what you do, where you are from, how old is your inner self, what your foot size is... that kind of thing :}
Arioth: Well to start off my real name is Tudor and I live in Romania, Transylvania to be more precise (no one belives me it really exists). I’m 21 and I currently am a student. I also work as a freelance web and graphic designer. My innerself refuses to speak to me lol

Lombi: How would you, in your own words, describe your style? What and who were your major influences in the development of that style? Does your soulmate have any bigger influences in what you do? Which artists do you admire and respect for what they do?
Arioth: I wouldn’t know how to describe it, I always try to experiment with new tehniques and style but I guess basically my style is…dark. Indeed my girlfriend had a very positive influence on me when I first began doing manips and she is still my biggest supporter. There are a lot of artists that I really like…sticking to the digital area I would say Damnengine, Apocryph and Alessandro Bavari.

Lombi: What kind of music do you listen to, when you work? What are your favourite bands/artists?
Arioth: Well music is my other main interest…I listen to a lot of bands, I couldn’t tell you which one is my favourite, but mainly rock and metal music. Music is a big inspiration and many times I started a graphic starting from a song.

Lombi: A question everyone wants to know these days ... at what point did you want to become the artist you are now ... was there any breaking points or such? How did you get started in digital art?
Arioth: Well..I started graphics by doing a design for my site, and as time passed this developed into a passion that still occupies 80% of my life.

Lombi: The second most commont question out there (hehe) ... what software do you use in creating your artworks, how does the common process look like when you are creating a piece? Do you just see that software as purely a tool used to create or as something more? What kinds of media and techniques do you commonly like to use when you create a piece?
Arioth: I use whatever software I can to achieve my idea but I think it all comes down to the almighty Photoshop hehe.

Lombi: When you create a piece what normally inspires your work?
Arioth: Usually music, then feelings and least but last my nightmares

Lombi: When you are working on a piece, when do you know that it's finally done?
Arioth: I don’t, I think I could work forever on a piece…

Lombi: Tell me how was it like breaking into the digital art scene ... i know it's very hard for young and unknown artists to get their name out nowdays ... how was your experience like? What's the best advice you could give to someone who wants to break into the scene?
Arioth: Well it was quite confusing in the beginning, but in time all things cleared up. The best advice I could give to an aspiering artist: work hard.

Lombi: So tell me ... how would you describe the digital art scene roughly around your location? I've heard many artists complain about almost complete ignorance towards digital art ... especially from traditional artists, galleries and such. Your two cents?
Arioth: Indeed, digital art is usually igonored or disconsidered by some traditional but digital art as a whole is still in an incipient stage I think so I don’t blame them. In Romania digital art is close to non-existant, though some attempts are made to make it more popular. I think in a few years time things will get rolling.

Lombi: What do you think about the whole online art community thing at the moment? Where would you like to see the future of art go? What are your plans for the future (except of course continuing to make such cool artworks)?
Arioth: There are a lot of art communities…I am not a big fan of the community thing, because often in these communities not the quality of the graphics is important but how may comments you give etc. There are also a lot of “artists” doing the classic “cracked face and blood” type of art. Hopefully as time passes people will focus more on quality.

Lombi: Or maybe there will be an algorythm to ignore images like that lol. You have a website or anything?
Arioth: Yes I do… Arioth.net

Lombi: You wake up one day and find out that you have amazingly cool superpowers. What are they?
Arioth: The power to convince idiots that they are wrong.

Lombi: Think you could ever borrow that to me? Second silly question ... you are able to own ANY piece of art in the world. Which one would you choose to hang on your wall?
Arioth: Well I don’t think I have one favourite artwork but I think it would be most definitely a Dali.

Lombi: You find out that you will be relocated on a desert island tomorrow. You can only take one thing with you. What is the one thing you can't live with?
Arioth: Cigarettes lol

Lombi: Hehe, that would definetely make two of us *puts out cig* Err ... umm... any questions for me?
Arioth: When did you stop believing in Santa Claus lol

Lombi: About two days ago. Some fuck told me that on the street and I kicked the hell out of him. And you don't want to know what happend to the guy that told me the easter bunny doens't exist... Well, that's kinda the end of the interview. Thanks for taking the time, my friend. Any final words of wisdom you would like to share with us?
Arioth: Thank you for your time too…any final words? … believe in yourself!. Well that sounded corny.
Siggie!
