hi there, i have a quick question. i've been told you can make infrared photos on photoshop. How does one do this? Can anyone help me out?

Not proper IR images, you will need either infrared film or an infrared capable digital camera for that.
To fake it though, you can check out our RGB to Infrared tutorial. |

Thank you for responding Domen, I will try out your tutorial. Sorry to ask one more question.
i would like to use my camera rather than using software to acheive infrared photos. I own a Nikkon D50, what type of filter do i use if there is a filter for this type of camera? thank you for reading my post Paola |

The Nikon D50 has an infrared filter in it, to block the rays reaching the sensor.
If you want to take infrared pictures, you would need to remove it... I've found a tutorial to show how to take it out (though I wouldnt have the nerve to do it to my camera!) Nikon D50 Infrared Conversion Tutorial |

As Steve already pointed out you will need to heavily modify it. If you dont want to destroy your camera in the process i would suggest doing it at any of the many ir-conversion specialists around the world.
It costs around 300-400$ to do the conversion and then you can capture the wonders of infrared all the way! |

For the RGB to Infrared tutorial, you should add some green color that's how you see it.
