and most famous european romantic artist between around 1600-1800? Trying to find a good artist. I have several favorites but can't decide.

Hi,
I guess that he's more known in USA than in Europe, so I've read. I just know him because I have a magazine about him. But even so, I guess that few know him. However he was very talented and nothing else than a David's student as it was Ingres.
