I am a photographer with an idea where I would need several cases of limes, does anyone have any ideas of how I can do that without wasting the limes or spending a fortune?

olive oil them to shine them and pop them in your bag and go for a walk...stack em kick em throw em ...and take photos...
leave a trail...fill a toilet(clean of course) |

Depending on what you are going to do with the limes you could contact a restaurant and talk to them about it, do you know anyone in food service, or that works at a grocery store? Other then buying them your self in bulk, I don't know
