The amount of effort is directly proportional to the amount of skill and talent you have. If you have no ability at all it would take a tremndous amount of effort. Guess you should have worded your question a lttle different. Like what is the proceedure for entering into fine arts program?

First, save up some money for the non-refundable application fees....I found anywhere from $75-150 per(depending on where you're applying). Also, go and visit the school if possible, see the kind of work being done, meet the profs, and students whenever possible. Make sure your portfolio looks killer, and your resume is all up to date. In the end, it's going to come down to whether or not they like your work.
