i'm an artist, so all my stuff is mostly my own, but i have some posters from genres i love, and some original art from friends.
the only one that stands out from those is an original seriograph from Will Barnett that i bought at a flea market for $60, it's worth $2,500!!! but i'm an exception, i'd say that most people have little to no original artwork. poor guys. |

I've got almost all prints. I just think that they're cheaper by factors of 10 or more, and it IS the same picture, after all.
The non-print ones tend to be sculpture or drawn by myself or a gift from a friend. Someday, when I am wealthy, I will buy a big original and point to it and say "that is an original" and all shall know how wealthy I truly am. Until then, I can just chill with my prints. |

I have at least 40 original oil paintings. My mom painted in oils and since 1970 I have been getting her to paint cool album covers and horses. She passed away and I got all her pantings

Enough for good taste. I think it is important to have a little culture surrounding you. Actually, I have gotten notes from artists thanking me for supporting their work. That means I have overdone it. My children have their own tastes, which are not quite mine. I hope they make a tidy sum selling my collection.

I have a lot and most are original and not cheap reproductions, probably about 50 or more. I tend to find good stuff at garage sales and thrift shops, generally I know a good painting or print when I see it.

Original art: one mixed media piece, four or five 16x20 illustrations, TONS of sketchbooks, four portfolios, 10 custom framed photographs of my travels, and one very bad oil painting. I also have art people have given me, like little drawings that my nieces made : ) I had more paintings but I tossed them, they made me depressed.
I try not to buy art, the only thing I buy in that vain are posters. Probably have 10 or so in storage. Some are movie posters, others are large 55 inch vintage posters. |

All the originals are hanging from the fridge by magnets, I have a few mass produced as well and one 5,000 piece puzzle that once I finished I said I would never re-do, so I glued it together, framed it ($350..@##&*>!!!!) and hung it on the wall. It's of a beautiful grist mill in the German forrest.
