If you were a gardener you would know the answer! Flowers are completely free. You can try to contain them but one puff of wind and one seed can result in flowers growing where you wouldn't expect them. They're tenacious and adaptable. From a crack in the pavement on a city street to a mountain meadow to the dump to the hottest desert, there's virtually nowhere on earth where you won't find flowers, and they don't need assistance or mollycoddling. They're completely independent. If that's not freedom then I don't know what is.

imagine this. you are in a room with a small barred window. you look out through the grimy glass to an empty lot. you see a single flower growing amongst the rubbish. it was a dandelion. it looked like a tiny sun lighting up the greyness of the world.
