I think a Fuji would be better to go with because of the fact that even a mere name implies quality. In the end, I think what you can afford is what you should go with.
Plus this cam has the new octagon sensors i think ... which capture more details in highlight areas than other prosumer cameras. I'd go with the fuji. |

Have u heard of RTUNE by Kyocera, its the only thing thats attracting me towwards it. They say this technology makes the cam startup in no time but its the opposit in Fugi, man, 5 SECONDS!!!, hell of a difference.
Imagine yourself going in a car and then suddenly you see something u wanna capture, what will u do then??? Start Up Time realy is a big issue, i dont know why they just simply make it more faster. But fugi cam got panoramic lens option. there is a special lens for it... U know ATOW [andreas], i have not been able to talk to him on this topic but he got FINEPIX 7000 with 6MP + 6x zoom. I also have that came in mind. Need to know more abt it... |

Think over if the fast startup is really what you are looking for in a camera. If this is better than image quality...

I had the fuji film S7000... and I hated it. I dont' know much about this camera but make sure that it is using mirror's and not a screen to show you what you are looking at. That's the huge screw up that they did on the S7000. I"ll look into both camera's later on, little tired right now.

Indeed, opting for an SLR, even a film one, would be a very good choice.

andreas mailed me his remarks abt his cam s7000 and he says that its just too perfect for him and he has taken many cook picies from it.
i heard the latest news from my friend in an other city [lahore]. he says that s5100 is available there. well this prob aint going anywhere for some time. tell me guys, some people say that there are only 2 noise free companies, 1: canon , 2: kyocera is this true? |

There is no noise free camera, what he said is just plain silly. There are however cameras with FAR LESS noise than others, but be sure that cameras that cost less than 2000$ are not amongst them.
You can be sure however that non-SLR cameras have much much more noise than SLR ones. Size and type of the sensor matter a lot. The camera with the less noise that I know of at the moment is the Canon 1Ds II. Why are you this hung on noise anyways? |

Looks very nice but I'd rather go with either the F828 model (i an ex user of that camera) or wait for the first SLR models which will get released soon.

Nope, Sony hasn't got any SLRs yet. It will however, but not that soon.

I did not even know that Kyocera made cameras. here is my two cents on the subject. Fuji although known for its film making, would be the better choice from my experience. It seems that everyone is getting in on other markets. Let me explain here: Take for example Cannon, been making camera's for years, then made a printer (not a cannon printer fan). They are better at making camera's.
Kyocera first came out with phones, which were ok. But using them as a camera just does not work for me. Although I have not seen those camera's I would go with a brand that has been associated with the photography industry first. |
