Mk someon may know this a bit better than me. But I have to create a few buttons for a VB program.
its a 31x31px round 1 px outside stroke. so a 32x32 button , png or gif are the requirements. Every frigin time i save them i get pixilation around the egde quite bad. and they have to be very sharp.with no pixilation what so ever. I figured maybe someone here is good at icon art or something might could leand a tip ot 2.

thanks

Could you show us what exactly you mean by this? Pixel art is usually done with the pencil tool (behind the brush tool). Perhaps one of the settings are giving out pixellation, I suggest either trying out the save to web feature or the regular one.

Can't really help you until you show us what the pixellated icon looks like. :

If I'm making something thats meant to look good in VB (rather than just functional) I would make the whole layout in photoshop and put it as the Form Background.
Then you can either add controls like, for example, a captionless label, the right size and make your '_Click' events in the label - It's there, but all the user sees is your Photoshop work.

Or am I getting you all wrong?

Not entirely sure what you mean by "4 stages"
Can you post a shot of the interface or something?

The problem is with the transitions between buttons, or with the edge of those circles?
If its not going to be against a stark white background I doubt there will be a problem to be honest, and you're only noticing it because you're only seeing that one button - put it into context of the whole (presumably media-centre-esque) interface and it wont be noticed at all

to me it seems like a standard anti-aliasing problem.
if you know what the background color will be, when you go to "save for web..." save it as .gif with background color selected. it will still be somewhat pixelated, but it won't be noticed on the background.

that is, if I understood everything well.
