What kind of free forums do you prefer? Is there any other possibilities than:
phpbb
EzBoard
Novogate
Bravenet?
Who have most options? Who have the best server-traffic? Who is most reliable?
Write what you think! Let me know! I am going to make one for Bottolf Arts...

I think the first question you need to ask yourself is whether you are going to be opting in for a fully hosted sollution (like phpbb) or a remotely hosted one like ezboard.

For the first one you will of course need a domain and proper hosting.

Personally I recommend a fully hosted sollution since you get to control your content and your forums to the maximum extent. By choosing those you get multiple possibilities:

- phpbb (not recommended, i cannot even count the times this software got hacked bad)
- vbulletin
- invision power board (artworld is using this btw)

So yeah, take a peek at those three pieces of forum softwares and see if you like either of them.

Thank you Domen! I liked this forum a lot! Invision is expensive, but good! I think I'm going to choose that one...

When it comes to a domain-name, well, I have to save some money first!
Do you have any favorites for domains and webhotels? Who's cheapest? Who did you buy from?

Well I cannot really vouch for the cheapest version, I'm sure there are a lot of free hosts out there, but if you want good stuff, Artworld is currently hosted on Dreamhost.com. I can give you a discount coupon if you decide to host there.

Once you register use the coupon code ARTWORLD and you will get a 25$ discount... It's that easy.

A guy is in line at the supermarket when he notices that a rather dishy blonde behind him has just raised her hand and smiled hello to him. He is rather taken aback that such a looker would be waving to him, and although familiar, he can't place where he might know her from, so he says "Sorry, do you know me?"

She replies "I maybe mistaken, but I thought you might be the father of one of my children."

His mind shoots back to the one and only time he has been unfaithful. "Holy crap," he says, "are you that stripper from my bachelor party that I screwed on the pool table in front of all my friends while your girlfriend whipped me with some wet celery and stuck a cucumber up my behind?"

"No," she replies, "I'm your son's English teacher

Haha, that was really funny!

But, it would have been funnier if it was in the "Joke" section, man!

And, keep that damn advertisement away from your posts! That includes everyone! I think it is a lot of users here, who just registered for advertising for "cheap car batteries" and "free music" etc...

It is automated Spam - I try to delete as much of it as I can whenever I manage to get on the site these days.

That was a bit weird! IPB advertise for: "No spam get trough our spam-checker" in Google Advertises...

Steve, I don't blame you! You're doing an exellent job here! And sorry to all others, I did not though spam got trough IPB... I just hate spam!

Unfortunatelly there is not much we can do until we change to the new CMS we're developing. There are a lot of posting programs out there now and new ones are coming out every day. They are specifically made for PHPBB, Bulletin and IPB since they are the three most common forums out there.

IPB 2.2 is supposed to have better spam protection but i dont think this will be the case.
