I wondered if you had a favourite Art Gallery that you often visit or spend time in.
As I child I used to visit the Art Gallery in my home town on almost a weekly basis. It had a good collection, but what I remember the most is the great range of Tiffany glass. At the time I was too young to appreciate the importance of Tiffany. I would jump at the chance to own a piece of Tiffany glass now though! |

My local art gallery when I was young was the Herbert Art Gallery, but it was never as much fun as the Motor Museum and the standard of art was not going to set the World alight. I love the Louvre in Paris and the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam.

We dont have any recognised gallerys here, but one place I would recommend is Bowes Museum near Barnard Castle in Weardale. They have a very large collection of works to suit everyones taste and it does take a good day to walk around all the exhibits.

I am always astonished by the breautiful art in the Louvre. Apart from that, no, no favourite gallery.

I am with you on the Louvre Domen. I even like the glass pyramid that is part of the building itself! There is so much to see in the Louvre though that you would need a week off to see the lot! I also love the Musee D'Orsay in Paris as it is full of impressionism.

I haven't actually visited any of the well known gallerys but find a great deal of pleasure in the small local gallery's and museums. Much more diverse than you would think, in their own way little treasure troves waiting to be explored.

Yes I do have a favorite art gallery. It's called stuart.
http://www.saatchi-gallery.co.uk/stuart/ The internet is a wonderful place. You can sit on your butt and have your art exhibited to people all over the world. And it's way more effective than the maze of devart, where your work is drowned in the flood of art. |
