Two of my favorite artist. But I've never been able to choose just one artist. So I want to hear your side of this.
Which one do you prefer? Why? @leighcheri34- That's what tell people when they ask me to choose between one or the other. But they seem to not care. I just wanted to know what people thought = ] |

I am not sure you could choose between them, considering their styles and time periods are so very different.

Da Vinci, his art was a lot more intricate. I just it better, Picasso's look like he was on drugs half the time.

Why should you have to choose? Both are wonderful artists, but Picasso's cubism is not my style. I love Da Vinci because he studied and studied what he was going to draw. Have you seen copies of rough sketches of his giant horse he was commissioned to sculpt? The confirmation of that animal is truly magnificent. I can't remember the exact name of the perfect man he drew, but every muscle, every part of his body is in perfect harmony. Truly an amazing man, both as an artist and an inventor (and a rebel). His ideas of the future are intriguing. If you haven't read a lot about him (non-fiction), do so.

Both are brilliant and very different from one another so it is difficult to compare. Strictly speaking of their art, they both revolutionized composition in painting. They both had incredible innate ability. Picasso being more modern, perhaps I can relate a bit more with his work. Were I to choose one, however, I would have to go with Leonardo. Leonardo was an inventor and thinker above being an artist. He was ravenously engaged in studying and understanding the world around him. He was a dreamer, thus many of his ideas were a bit too grand. He was, however, centuries ahead of his time imagining submarines, bicycles, helecopters, cars, machines of flight and war. He kept thousands of pages of notes which are a testament to his commitment to understanding the world. Leonardo tried through his work to enhance humankind's ability to thrive in the world. Picasso, as far as I can tell, was more concerned with himself, his egoic self-expression and the furthering of the name Picasso. Between the two, I find Leonardo much more interesting.

these two artists are kind of hard to compare. you see, da vinci was a flemish painter who did realism. the style at that time was realism. people liked realism at that time. so with picasso, u go to 1902( the date when the blue period started) and u see he does lots of abstarct. you cant compare a abstract atrist with a flemish painter. if it was picasso and joan miro i would choose miro because i like his works better
