I am looking to create a subtle picture to put in the background of my website.
The picture needs to be sharp in focus, and I may need to blend a couple of seperate pictures into one. What software would you recommend to get the best results. I am willing to spend a decent amount of money to get a good result. Any ideas? |

I'm not sure having a sharp image as a website background will help a lot in presenting your content. In case you do want to do one, the trick is pretty simple.
Hit CTRL+U in Photoshop and drag the lightness way up. Or another sollution would be to use the Pattern Maker, a plugin that has been around since version 7 if I remember correctly. It will create seamless tiling backgrounds from virtually anything. Everything from puppies to old clocks |

I know of a piece of software called Background Magic that can be used to create your own background from a number of files. Tha main software is free - although you can upgrade to the professional version and also buy different image packs. It may be worth a try.

I think Lombi hit the nail on the head and Kia followed suite. Photoshop has a wonderful tiling ability that can be used if you want to make a background image for a web site. Photoshop is so versatile, you rarely need any other software.

That is great that there are some programs being recommended. Why do you use the one you have chosen? I would like to know why you are choosing those programs. What has worked for you. Is one better than the other.
