Gotta say hi to lombi first
So...some friends and i are organizing this party and i gotta create the poster. It's supposed to look simple and more-or-less with bright colours... I made this and they all like it. ![]() So yea... all looks ok n stuff.. but my friends forgot to mention the requirements i needed to get this image to the printer. Wich are... *points to title* the CMYK-colourmode and 300 DPI Resolution. Right.. so when i started with the poster, i just used the standard settings. Resolution: 300 pixels/inch and Mode: RGB-color. The printer does not accept any RGB files as they may mess up the true colors. Please also note that the image is sized on an A2-format (420mm width, 594mm height). So yea... it's kinda large... colors might get messed up a little at this size ... My main question is: Can i change the resolution AND the mode to CMYK-colourmode and 300 DPI Resolution without starting all over again? Also.. might be important! I'm working with Photoshop 7.0 oldskool lol ^_^ thanks in advance, grtz shanks |

Yes, changing the color mode should not affect your artwork in any way. You can do two things:
- change original file - save original, make duplicate, flatten and convert the duplicate You can convert the color space by going to image/mode/cmyk Saving to TIF will usually do the trick. The reason they require such a file is because the printer has a VERY poor RIP or they dont have one at all. |
