I would like to know what camera maker you prefer and why. Please tell me the good and bad about the type of your choice. I am looking to making a major purchase and would like to know which of these two you would recommend.

I have used Cannon cameras in the past and would like information on the difference in the digital world.

Nikons have some great electronic flash capabilities and very good glass but for some reason they have declined to make a camera with a full-size sensor. Suddenly, your wide angle lenses are not so wide anymore and you have to buy Nikon's new extremely short lenses (like 12-24mmm) to get back to where you were with your old Nikon 20mm lens. Sound like marketing strategy?

At least Canon's high end have full size sensors. That being said, I have so much invested in Nikon that I am unlikely to switch. Aside from the stupid lens thing, they are great digital cameras.

Thank you for the information, I was not aware of that for the Nikon. But this will give me some more things to look at in my comparison. I am very interested in the Cannon and have used them in the past, but was comparing the Nikon's because I have some photographer friends who swear by them.

Are there any other features that you find are different between the two makers, or are they basically same with minor additions?
