Hey everyone. I would like to know your feedback on possible interface and feature improvements on ArtWorld. Anything, even the slightest change ideas are appreciated.

I'll be starting work on a new skin for ArtWorld soon so I'd like to accumulate as much user feedback as possible.

Thanks.
Siggie!

A longer list of recent forum topics, a lot of threads disappear and are never seen because of new ones.

After tutorial submission, a message saying that it's been successful and needs to be approved (ie, people wont submit things over and over thinking it hasnt worked)

Some change regarding profiles, so there is only one per user- Like how http://www.artworld.si/index.php?showuser=1521 is different from http://www.artworld.si/cof-m1521.art Though I guess that isn't a skin change.

Colour scheme related - I really like your pastel shades on Lombergar.com version 6, maybe something like that so it's less "sterile" than off-white.

Tutorial thumbnails in the >Tutorials>Catagory directories?

No doubt I'll post back if I think of anything else :

:omg: And bring back the thing that displays your current "location" by directory and sub directory, like Gallery > Photography Showcase > Title or Forums > OMGPLZ!!!!1

So useful for getting around the site faster

Wait, is my browser being goofy, am I crazy, or did you increase the font size of the post content?

I don't like it. Like, at all. Maybe it a better font was used or something, but yuck. I don't like it at all.

:wtf:

Actually for now it's only increased by very little (10->11px), for the sake of people reading the site better. It's the same on the gallery, tutorials as here.

Hehe yeah, noticed what was wrong for IE not displaying the images :P

Something will eventually be needed to be addded to the right part to fill it up a bit probably, but for the minute, this looks more breatheable.

I temporarily removed the news from the site to see if having the forum for the front page increases the site's forum activity.

I like the new header , but i think it could be a bit more 'impressive' like the last one with the guy who was looking in his camera , that was really impressive and you want to know more about that. I haven't quite got that feeling now. The font is better though.

That's the only thing i can think of for improvement....people who don't know much about photoshop and do like art need to get stunned by something when only looking at the homepage.

I, as a member, am really impressed by the site. But I think people who aren't a member should be too.

Okay, redid most of the site ... it's now running the latest software and it's now 6:20 AM and I have to go to bed. :omg: Let me know of any bugs you find.

Known bugs: nonexistence of submit button, user pages, some stuff still showing ugly urls. The header will also be replaced with the flash version.

*pats on the back* have some wine and relax for a while
Cant see anything that doesnt work properly, homepage has the "Powered by Invision Power Board" message in the Title bar.
Lol - Noticed I cant add to your warn level any more :}
I'll report back if i stumble across anything else.

Edit Ah, Gallery Submissions - "Pin" and "Move" are IPB buttons, not your own. Deleting gallery submission failed the first time i tried, worked the second time - and its Msgbox "Are you sure you want to delete this message" - when its not a message.

"User gallery", eg http://www.artworld.si/index.php?automodul...=user&user=1521, the buttons for page 2, 3, etc take you to the home page.

New images (all ones with 0 comments) in the gallery dont seem to have anywhere to write a comment

And ooh, now if you post twice sequentially on a thread the posts auto-merge :omg:

Okay, everything should be fixed now, the custom member pages and the artworks submission work. Also the 48 hour limit and the email notifications.

The design for the userpages and the new competition comes tomorrow.

He has been banned for profanity and promoting hatred, absolutely nothing to do with racism. Same as several other people who registered on the same by the same person.

This is a site for everyone of any age but we do have rules.

Pfft... rules. I don't follow no freakin' rules!

Anyway, now that you've changed the background color of the forums, my very simplistic "Hi." avatar no longer looks cool. Not that I mind; that avatar took me all of one minute to make.

But mostly, I like the new layout. I may have liked the old color scheme better, but this is just fine, and may be an acquired taste. I like the recent topics, et cetera to be on the left side, but it's a minor qualm.

One actual complaint I have is the font that shows username. It's too squeezed together and bold. It's not that hard to read, per se, just it looks a bit... ugly.

Also, as I type this, the "Editing a post in ________" header's font is very condensed, too. Not really hard to read, but also not the greatest for the eyes.

Also, as an additional comment, how in the hell do you navigate the forums? I click a sub-board, and get transported to a topic sometimes having nothing to do with the board I just tried to visit.

Am I just insanely stupid, or is something fish-like going on?

I've been having trouble making comments to submitted works. Every character I type into the text box makes the screen flicker or jump to another spot, and I get a beep. Sometimes my current typing is at the very top of my screen, sometimes it is at the very bottom, sometimes it is somewhere in the middle, occaisionally, I can't see it at all. SOmetinmes it jumps by a whole screen, sometimes just by a couple of centimeters. It's happening in this text box too. It makes my brain hurt.

spllogics & patman: could you specify which forums you mean and whih topics you click? This would help a lot.

@cara: This is very likely a browser/graphics driver issue. The site itself shouldn't be able to make any screen flicker without using extensive javascript to do so.

WHich browser are you using?

Not a single link in the board list works for me. When I click on it, I'm sure transported to a seemingly-random topic. It's not even necessarily a topic within that board.

For example, when I click the "OMGPLZ Jokes" (or whatever it is), I get the topic of the rules to the site. I didn't think your rules were THAT much of a joke...

But seriously, not a single board works for me. If it matters any, I'm using Opera. I'll try some other browsers, too, although I doubt that should make a difference.

EDIT: ACTUALLY, OUT OF THE FOUR BROWSERS I TRIED, ONE OF THEM DID DISPLAY THE FORUMS CORRECTLY. I TRIED OPERA, SAFARI AND FIREFOX, NONE OF WHICH WORKED. THEN I TRIED CAMINO, WHICH DID WORK.

Here's the difference:
In all three of the browsers I tried, I get linked to, for example, here. This is after clicking the "Artworld Interviews" board.
http://www.artworld.si/artworld_interviews-t38.art

In Camino, I'm linked to:
http://www.artworld.si/index.php?showforum=38

If I copy and paste that link to my other browsers, it works.

I don't understand, though. Why would this happen?
