Artists Brush asked this question on the artcone forums: There have been a number of occassions recently when I have not been able to reproduce required images myself, and I have looked at the option of purchasing images for use on my websites.
There seem to be so many of these image selling sites – have you ever used one ?
What are your experiences?
I would like to join a site with a monthly subscription, which allows access to a vast array of images.
Your comments would be appreciated.

I think these three are the most known ones at the moment:
- shutterstock.com (subscribtion, limited downloads)
- istockphoto.com (very known, no subscription)
- dremastime.com (havent tried it myself yet)

That’s a pretty good site, but not many images can be used in a commercial manner since most are not model released.

Here’s another site where you can find images. To be honest, I haven’t found anything useful on this site yet but maybe you will. No registration needed…

What’s up guys????!!!
About the site http://www.sxc.hu/home, you can use the pictures commercially, if there is any restriction is usually showed and depending of the image the model released is there our sometimes you just need to ask the author.
Thanks

I would recommend istockphoto.com as well as they have a good range of Flash movies, illustrations and photographs that start at $2 a time.
A couple of other ones that I use are:
http://www.freeimages.co.uk/ (free)
http://www.bigstockphoto.com/
http://www.stockvisuals.com/myAccount.asp
http://www.ukstockimages.com/
If money is no object, then I suppose you could always try Getty Images.
