What exactly are you trying to achieve?
Judging from the photo it was (probably) shot with three lights and a reflector for fill in. The rest of the stuff is most probably 3d.

wanted to do that effect through Photoshop. Is it done through Render Filter?

i wanted to achieve the shadow effect on the face of jean grey. hoping i can replace it with my picture too…

A spotlight setting from Filter > Render > Lighting Ef fects would be a good place to start, I think
