I use CS, since CS 2 uses such a vast ammount of system resources while giving very few benefits (that i can see).
Also occasionally use GIMP to make textures

I'm on Photoshop CS2 mainly because of an extremely well thought out workflow for processing of raw files from bridge and other integrations that have been upgraded a lot.

Haven't used most of the new features daily, except perhaps the vanishing point, which provides better visual reference for perspective distortion.

Yeah, my desktop has those specs. I suggest you make a clean install of the system and install again the suite ... worked wonders for both my pcs ... really differed from the upgrade.

I used my time-travel device to purchase a copy of Photoshop CS4, and then brought it back.

It runs a little bit slow on my computer at times, but it's a huge improvement over the previous version, Photoshop CS5. I'm not sure of Adobe's reasoning to make CS5 before CS4 -- it seems a rather odd decision to me. But I'm sure their logic is sound.

Overall, it was totally worth the money.

"Hello Artworld! What a great place you have here! I'm Kristian Hjelle, also known as Bottolf. I'm 12 years old, living in Norway. Many guys call me the biggest designer-talent they have seen on years! I don't mean to brag... So, Artworld, I hope I'm welcome here!" .Bottolf

I am using the CS2. I think it is a lot better than 7.0! I got CS2 for two weeks now, so I have not discovered all the new features yet. The "Vanishing point" is helping me a lot!

"As said, I'm just 12 years old, so I'm not the World Champion, so please help me, come with constructive review of my artwork. I really want to learn!" .Bottolf

Sorry for my bad english guys, but you have to live with it...

I have finally bitten the bullet and got hold of a copy of Photoshop CS2.

I don't know if others have the same problem, but I find that it takes ages to load up and then kind of gets stuck and crashes a few times. This happens more when I click on a file and open the package that way.

Has this happened to others?
