Is DISTILLED linseed oil good to use with oil colours or is it bad if the linseed oil is distilled?

Buy linseed oil from the oil-painting section of the art supply store, and you won't have to worry.

Buy it from a hardware store, and you may get something with petroleum products in it.

You want cold pressed linseed oil not distilled, also you want one that is archival, that means it won't yellow over time.

Distillation involves heat. Heated linseed oil is not a good thing for artists colours. Heat pressed linseed oil is used in the United States for artists oils but the quality is cheap.
The best oil for use in grinding as well as an additive to the canvas is cold pressed linseed oil. Europe is the best place to obtain that oil right now. Germany & Belgium are two of the countries that make the best cold pressed linseed oils right now.
A lot of artists are making big noises for the cold pressed oil right now and I believe our colours are going to be ground more often in cold pressed oil.
Distilled linseed oil is not in my opinion a good oil for artists oil colours.
I hope this helps you.
