Kea asked this question on the artcone forums: Does anyone know of any symbols that mean in some way the end of hard times…or making it through hard times. I want to get a tattoo to remind myself of all that I’ve learned from the hard times in my life, and how I’ve made it…and how I can make it through anything…
Any flowers, native american, anything?
Or any other ideas would be awesome too!
Thanks

You have to remember Tattoo and body glorification is a NEW idea to us.
I don’t personally know of any symbol in of itself that means a hard time.
BUT there are things we remember.
Like having to eat our camp dogs when the army wouldn’t let us hunt. the cold winters when legs would freeze. bloody hoof prints in the snow after the cavalry rode through a camp.
SOME dancers paint white spots on their bodies to remember the small pox.
I would HONOR the enemy that gave me such a hard time. THAT is the reason we used to take ’trophy”, and sing a song about this enemy that fought bravely.

A few chinese symbols I might would suggest- if your into asian symbols would be
-”Ru Yi” – things going as wished.
-”Ren”- tolerate, endure.
-”Sui Yuan”- accept the circumstances.
-”Kan Po”- see through
Other than that I’d perhaps try to search for it, or go to your local tattoo shop and ask someone.
