Goa asked this question on the artcone forums: I want to buy a new digital camera, for exapmle one that takes good night scene pictures, closeups etc.
Last night I saw a great place in the city with great lights with the moon above, but my camera just couldn’t hack it, it turned out to be a stupid dark photo.
Can you recommend a good but not much expensive digital camera?

hmmm Canon PowerShot A620 …its not too expensive and is VERY powerful…it will last you a few years.
Its good for night scene pictures and closeups
Let me know what you think of my pick.

Please specify the max amount of $ you are willing to part with for the camera.

Then I suggest taking a look at either some used Canon 300D / Nikon 50D cameras if you wish to take a leap of faith towards DSLR (the difference in image quality is spectacular)
Or if you are going for a new camera then i suggest the new A700 from Canon.
Dpreview just posted a review of it on their site: http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/canona700/

Of those two DSLR’s I’d probably go towards the Canon, I dont really like sample shots Ive seen of the D50 – and the 300D has a lot going for it.

That might be true (havent compared myself) but you should also take build quality into consideration. I mean … 300D compared to 50D looks like a camera that came free with Vanish Power Gel in the local store.
Like … you can’t pick up chicks with that camera
